Culture life of Odessa city
A month, devoted to German culture had finally started this Monday in our city. On the 18th of October a famous chamber duet from Hanover will give a splendid performance to the public in the big hall of Stolyarskogo school. The next day a German ball will take place in Odessa club “21 century”. Everybody can visit an exhibition of the painter Vadim Celousov (originally odessit) called “My Germany” on the 1st of November. This event will be organized in the entrance hall of Odessa city administration building.
As to concerts of European music “stars”, Britain entrepreneur Akin Jeffer promises to launch his long-term project that will result in the number of concerts of international show business “stars”. Who are they is kept in secret. The first music group that will come to Odessa will be the group “FAB4”. As Jeffer says it can be considered the most successful reincarnation of legendary “Beatles”. The group is also known due to their charity concerts. They will play on the 31st of October in the “Mirage” club. The latter will became a permanent place for all invited European guests in the framework of this project.
Swiss producer Stephan Keller is currently shooting a film named «08:15 to Odessa» (the same as the flight of the main hero coming to our city). This is the joint Swiss-Ukrainian film project. The main goal of the film is to reflect political intrigues and find out the driving force of their behavior. The film budget is modest, makes up 8-9 thousand dollars. Only few professional actors are involved. And this is actually a plus, as the shooting group doesn’t forbid acting for Ukrainians who really wish to be involved. The film reflects existing stereotypes about Odessa. For example, one of the most popular Swiss stereotypes about Odessa girls is that they are all blonds. That’s why all actresses of the film are blonds. The “08:15 to Odessa” is expected to be finished and presented to Odessa cinema amateurs at the beginning of 2008.
