The number of international marriages in Odessa is constantly increasing
Earlier this year in Odessa region 600 marriages have been registered. Leader-marriages are with citizens of Moldova and Russia.
308 marriages - Odessa people with Moldova citizens and 230 with Russians have been registered in Odessa region lately during the last 9 months. As Government employees state, this statistics corresponds to standards of previous years.
The beauty of Odessa women attracts not only neibouring countries but also the countries abroad – men travel to Odessa from over Great Britain, U.S.A, Marocco and even Nigeria. Popular marriages are also considered marriages with Syrians and Israel citizens.
Although, to register the relationship officially, the foreigner should have the certain paperwork. This official circumlocution becomes a #1 reason to stand in the way of loving couples.
Valentina Opanasenko, the deputy chief in Odessa Region Gegistry office – “For marriage registration the foreigner should produce their national passport where it should be stated that they are officially staying in Ukraine. Also they should have the certificate which states that the person is not married.”
If a citizen of another country has ever been married before, he should produce the Marriage Dissolving certificate. And the important fact – all of the documents should be translated into Ukrainian and be assigned by the notary representative.
